LANCASTER, Calif. - The University of California, Merced men's soccer team started their final road trip of the regular season with a 1-1 draw at University of Antelope Valley on Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats (9-1-5, 6-0-4) remain unbeaten in California Pacific Conference play and are the first Cal Pac team unbeaten through ten Cal Pac games since head coach Albert Martins' squad also accomplished the feat in 2018. 

Kevin Capetillo scored the game's first goal in the 78th minute to put the Bobcats up 1-0. Capetillo's goal was his third in as many games and his seventh on the year. 

UAV netted the equalizer in the 86th minute to force the draw. The Bobcats drew four fouls and earned a corner kick in the final minute in it's final attempt to score what would have been the latest regulation game-winning goal in program history.

The Bobcats outshot UAV 10-4 on the day, 6-3 on goal. Nine of the Bobcats ten shots were recorded in the first half. The lone shot in the second half was Capetillos' goal. Marcos Ceballos took three first half shots, two of which were on target.

UC Merced won the corner kick battle 3-1. 

Marco Sobrevilla played all 90 minutes between the posts for the third consecutive match and made a save in each half.

The Bobcats, who have clinched their ninth consecutive postseason berth, have just two regular season games remaining. The Bobcats are in a position to host a Cal Pac Postseason game the weekend of November 5, but could earn a first round bye and go straight to the Cal Pac Semifinals in Riverside by earning three more points paired with a Westcliff loss to Providence Christian College. Or, the Bobcats can win each of its final two games and earn the first round bye.
