UC Merced Sports Information

The UC Merced Sports Information Office is responsible for the promotion and representation of the intercollegiate athletic programs. The Sports Information Office also serves as a link between the UC Merced student athletes, coaches, administrators and the media. The department attempts to provide timely and accurate coverage of UC Merced athletics by coordinating interviews, servicing the information needs of a reporter and compiling and maintaining statistics, photos, video, press clippings and historical records.

Interview Policy

All media interviews, television appearances or radio spots with UC Merced Athletics administrations, coaches and/or student-athletes must be pre-arranged through the Sports Information Office. All interviews with student athletes will be arranged around their academic and practice schedules, so appropriate notice is needed and appreciated.

Visiting Radio

Visiting broadcasters traveling to Merced should be in contact with Andrew Mitchell or email sid@ucmerced.edu at least 48 hours prior to the game. The staff will do their best to make sure all broadcast needs are met and will work to grant the traveling party a spot close to their team’s bench. It is recommended to bring an ethernet cord (indoor sports), hotspot (outdoor sports) & an extension cord. Visiting broadcasters will receive box scores throughout the game.
