TEMECULA, Calif. - Trinidad Quiroz scored two second half goals to propel the University of California, Merced women's soccer team to a 3-1 win over University of Saint Katherine on Sunday morning at Big Horse Ranch.

The Bobcats (3-2-2, 2-1) Quiroz has recorded a brace in two of the last three matches and is now tied for the team lead with four goals. 

Hannah DeLay also scored for the Bobcats and her second goal of the season was an equalizer in the 41st minute off a cross from Kaeley Cariglio. Cariglio's assist was the first of her career. Jennavieve Ordonez was also credited with an assist on the score as she sent a thorugh ball down to the endline for Cariglio.

Quiroz's first goal, the game-winning goal, came in the 54th minute. Battling her defender one-on-one and beating her into the right side of the 18-yard box, Qurioz then found the upper 90 of the net with a left footed missile. 

Quiroz added an insurance goal in the final 90 seconds after intercepting a defenders pass and beating the goalkeeper with a straightaway shot from ten yards away.

The San Jose, Calif., native recorded five shots on the day, three on target.

The Bobcats took 12 shots overall, eight on frame. Jocelyne Garcia put two shots on goal in the first 20 minutes of the contest.

Jadyn Gong played the full 90 minutes between the posts for the Bobcats and neared a career-high with six saves, including a sliding kick save in the 66th minute to keep the Bobcats lead intact. 

Saint Katherine scored their lone goal in the 17th minute.

UC Merced improved to 3-0 all-time against Saint Katherine with the victory.
