Bramah Named Cal Pac Player of the Week

MERCED, Calif. – Senior guard Chris Bramah of the University of California, Merced men's basketball team has earned California Pacific Conference Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league office Monday evening.

Bramah's weekly award is the first in his career.

Bramah tallied back-to-back 25+ point outings on the week, including scoring a career-high 30 points against Menlo College on Saturday.

The Oakland, Calif., native is just the fourth player in program history to score 30 points in a game and he hit that mark shooting 57% (12-21) from the floor and 50% (3-6) from downtown. Bramah also tied his career-high with eight rebounds and dished out three assists in the double overtime loss.

Bramah scored 27 points earlier in the week in an exhibition game against UC Riverside. He went 9-14 from the field overall, including 4-5 from three-point land. Bramah also made all five of his foul shots in the highest scoring output by any Bobcat all-time against a NCAA Division One opponent. The Bobcats senior added five rebounds and three assists. The Bobcats fell 76-69 to the Highlanders, the smallest margin of defeat in any Division One game UC Merced has played in.

Up next, UC Merced will play two more exhibition games at University of Alaska Anchorage beginning on Friday, November 17. Tipoff from Alaska Airlines Center is scheduled for 7:00pm PST.
