Williams & Ramirez Named CSC Academic All-District

MERCED, Calif. – Megan Williams and Paloma Ramirez have been selected to the 2023-24 Academic All-District Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. 

Williams started a team-high 24 games for the Bobcats and averaged 4.9 PPG on 50% shooting, becoming one of just seven players in program history to maintain a 50.0 field goal percentage or better. Williams also finished third on the team with 4.7 rebounds per game and was second with 14 total blocks. The junior scored in double figures four times and grabbed 8+ rebounds on five occasions. Williams is majoring in psychology.

Ramirez earned 13 starts and played 25 games in her sophomore season. The Watsonville, Calif., native averaged 5.0 PPG and finished top five on the team with 3.3 rebounds per game and 15 three-pointers made. Ramirez scored in double figures four times and splashed a triple in eleven different games. Ramirez, who is also ninth in program history with 54 career three-pointers, also had 14 steals. She is majoring management and business economics.

To qualify for the all-district team, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's total games or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's total games. Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore and must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
