HAYWARD, Calif. – The University of California, Merced women's water polo team fell 23-2 to Cal State East Bay on Friday afternoon.
Liberty Hamilton led the Bobcats (2-12) efforts with two goals in her fifth straight multi-goal game.
Hamilton scored with 1:47 left in the second quarter and then again just over two minutes into the third quarter.
Alex Andrist led Cal State East Bay with four goals. Seven Pioneers scored at least two goals overall and 13 total CSUEB players scored.
The Pioneers led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter and scored eleven unanswered over the first 14 minutes of action.
After UC Merced's second goal, CSUEB ended the match with a 10-0 goal scoring run.
Hope Stokes made ten saves in the cage.
Up next, UC Merced will host Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday, March 10. The match is scheduled to start at 11:00am at the Aquatic Center in Merced, Calif.
