SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The University of California, Merced men's volleyball team lost in straight sets to No. 1 The Master's University on Saturday afternoon, 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-18).

With Saturday's match, the Bobcats (2-7) have now played the top two ranked teams in the country this season on the road.

The Bobcats struggled to find momentum offensively as TMU held the Bobcats to just 15 kills and racked up 45 digs. UC Merced hit .048 compared to the Mustangs .340.

Braden Van Groningen (14 kills/.429 hitting%) and Isaac Seltzer (11 kills/.600 hitting%) led the way for the Mustangs.

Jared Guglielmana held team-high for the Bobcats with four kills and eight digs.

Colin Ryan recorded three kills and a solo block. Jozef Lingenfelter recorded four digs, two kills, two blocks, and a service ace.

Toby Miller had nine assists.

Other notables include five digs from Sebas Moreno, four assists from Brayden Van Kuren, and three kills for Angelo Le.

Up next, UC Merced will play eighth-ranked NCAA Division One opponent Stanford on Friday, February 28. First serve from Burnham Pavilion in Stanford, Calif., is scheduled for 6:00pm.
