MERCED, Calif. – The University of California, Merced women's water polo team fell 23-1 to No. 15 UC Davis on Saturday afternoon at the Aquatics Center.
Kiryn Wicker scored the Bobcats (2-12) lone goal on a penalty shot late in second quarter.
UC Davis came out hot with eight goals in the first quarter and led 9-0 before Wicker's score. The Aggies would lead 10-1 at halftime.
UC Davis scored eight goals in the third quarter and dented the twine five times in the final frame.
Makenzie Royal recorded eleven saves and a steal for UC Merced. Saturday marked her third match of the season with double figure saves.
Claudette Asenjo, Aislyn Sorsky, and Wicker also had a steal.
Looking ahead, UC Merced will host WWPA opponent Fresno Pacific on Wednesday, March 18. Opening sprint is scheduled for 5:00pm at the Aquatics Center.
