2011-2012: UC Merced Male Athlete of the Year, Aki Chambers led the team in scoring with 20 points per game, field goal percent at 43%, rebounds per game at 8.2 and steals per game at 2.1…Chambers’ season highs include 4 made threes vs. Texas A&M on November 26, 2011, a game he would finish with 32 points, another season high…he would break his rebounding record snatching 18 total rebounds (12 defensive rebounds) vs. Holy Names on January 12, 2012…he would also break his steals record with 7 against Holy Names on February 4, 2012. Chambers would go on to be named Player of the Week for the week of January 16^th, 2012…his domination in the league would allow him to finish the season as the California Pacific Conference leading scorer and he would also be honored on the All-California Pacific Conference First Team.

High School: Attended Sir Francis Drake High School in San Angelo, CA…was an athlete in both men’s basketball and volleyball for two years…awarded Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Offensive Player for his volleyball career...valued as the Most Improved Player on his basketball team for one season.

Personal: Aki is a co-founder of the men’s basketball team at UC Merced…plans to play basketball overseas in Japan after graduating this year with a Material Engineering degree…is a vegetarian who enjoys eating pizza…upon finishing his last season, he plans to have the team claim first in California Pacific Conference play.
