Tony Amaral

Tony Amaral joins the Men's Soccer staff in their inaugural year as the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach. Raised in Turlock, California Amaral graduated from California State University Stanislaus in 2007 with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. Amaral had a stellar 4 year playing career at Stanislaus. While at Stanislaus Amaral became the school's first player to be named first team All-CCAA in 2004, and again in 2005. Amaral was also selected All-Far West Region in 2005. He graduated as the school's all-time leader in points scored. Amaral also played a season of professional indoor soccer in 2010-11 with PASL-Pro's California Cougars.

Prior to joining UC Merced Amaral spent the past season as an Assistant Coach at California State University Stanislaus, where he helped lead the Warriors to their first-ever conference title and NCAA Division II tournament appearance. 

In 2011 Amaral completed his MBA in Sports Management at Columbia Southern University. In 2012 he completed an internship with the UC Berkeley athletic department in Event Management.

He now joins his former college teammate Albert Martins on the UC Merced Men's Soccer coaching staff.
