Sydney Mathias begins his second season as an assistant coach for UC Merced men's volleyball in 2024.

He helped lead the Bobcats to a 6-6 record in the California Pacific Conference a year ago and to the #4 seed in the conference tournament. Chris Morikawa earned All-Cal Pac First Team honors, while Jared Guglielmana and Ryan Kilgore were tabbed honorable mentions. 

Mathias has also served on the sidelines with Prachumsri for the UC Merced women's volleyball team.
