Shaunna Ridge is a California native from Sacramento.  Ridge was a former NCAA Division I student athlete who graduated from San Jose State University after an outstanding basketball career.  In high school Ridge was a three year varsity basketball letter winner from El Camino High School where she was a two-time All-Capital Athletic League honoree.  She also led El Camino to the 2006 Sac-Joaquin Section III Championship.

After high school Ridge continued her basketball career at San Joaquin Delta College where she made the third team CCCAA All-State selection her sophomore year.  She led the Big 8 Conference in blocked shots, helped lead the team to a 30-7 record and advance to the Elite 8 State Championships her sophomore year.

To finish out her playing career she transferred to San Jose State University where she played in a total of 58 games combined her junior and senior year.  At SJSU Ridge finished her career with 86 blocks in two seasons and is ranked fourth all-time in San Jose State history in blocked shots.  Ridge also finished on San Jose State's top ten list in steals and rebounds.

Ridge looks to help lead the Bobcats to a great season as she enters her next realm of her basketball career as a first-year Assistant Coach with the UC Merced Women’s Basketball program.
