Viviana Vasquez enters her first season with the UC Merced women’s basketball program as a WSF VanDerveer Fellow.

Vasquez, a two-time captain and 2018 graduate of Fresno Pacific University, played in 56 games over two seasons with the Sunbirds. As a junior, Vasquez led her team with 4.8 rebounds per game and shared team-high with a .384 field goal percentage. Vasquez also finished top three in steals (42), blocks (10) and minutes per game (23.9). Vasquez averaged 4.3 points per game.

As a senior, Vasquez upped her field goal percentage to .423 and scored a career-high 13 points against California Baptist University on February 17, 2018.

Vasquez played her freshman and sophomore seasons at San Joaquin Delta College where she helped lead her team to a 2015 Big Eight Conference Championship and a 2016 Final Four appearance. 

Vasquez went to Modesto Christian High School, earning the CIF Sportsmanship award after her team won the Division Three State Championship.

Vasquez has a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and an Associate in Arts in General Education.

Recently, Vasquez has served as a Camp Coach with the Golden State Warriors and has worked in different capacities with the Modesto Magic.
