Biography

2013-2014: As a sophomore, Howard played in all 23 games in the season, starting all but 2… led the team in field goals made with 138… made a team high 31 three pointers, while shooting 41% from beyond the arc… was 61 of 72 from the free-throw line shooting 85% in the season… averaged a team high 18.2 points per game… had 52 rebounds, 41 steals and 35 assists in the season… on January 25, 2014 against the La Sierra University Golden Eagles, Howard made a school record 9 three pointers finishing with a career high 37 points in the game on 12 made field goals... named to the First Team All-California Pacific Conference for the second consecutive season… was honored as UC Merced’s Female Athlete of the Year.

2012-2013: Early in the season, on November 21, 2012, Howard would go on to make a season high 6 three pointers, which would ultimately leave her with a season high 35 points against Holy Names University… her performance would get her recognized as the California Pacific Player of the Week… in California Pacific Conference play, Howard shot 33% from the three point line and 80% from the free throw line as she averaged 16.3 points per game (16 points per game overall)… her hard work was compensated as she was awarded one of the top California Pacific Conference awards, Freshman of the Year…was named to the All-California Pacific Conference First Team… Howard was also honored with the UC Merced Georgette “Ma” Kelley Female Athlete of the Year award.

High School: Attended Norco High School in Corona, California… played on the Girls Varsity Basketball Team all four years and graduated with the most free throws made and three pointers made in school history… was 3rd all-time in free throw percentage, 5th all-time in points, 7th all-time in assists and 10th all-time in steals.

Personal: Howard is majoring in Biology with the hopes of becoming a physician’s assistant... lists her favorite professional team as the Lakers and her favorite athlete as Kobe Bryant… her goals as a Bobcat are to improve her own basketball skills, become a better leader, help the team make the playoffs and win championships.
