Megan Atoigue (previously Swann) is entering her second season as the head women's soccer coach at UC Merced. Last season Atoigue led the Bobcats to an overall record of 6-7 with a California Pacific Conference record of 2-4 in their inaugural season. The Bobcats finished fourth in Cal Pac play giving them a bid to the conference tournament.
Atoigue brings experience as a player and coach. A four year starter at Clayton Valley High School where she won a BVAL League Championship, she would then move on to Vanguard where she helped the Lady Lions reach a national ranking of 16th in NAIA DI. Atoigue graduated from Vanguard University in 2007 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Athletic Training. Atoigue finished her playing career with the Walnut Creek Power, a semi-professional team from the East Bay.
Coach Atoigue most recent coaching experience stems from being the Head Coach at Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord. There she led the Warriors to a 14-8 record, a first ever NCS playoff birth, and coached the league's Offensive MVP in Daisy Bonilla (now a player at UC Merced). Atoigue's two-year coaching record at Ygnacio Valley was an impressive 27-16-1.
Prior to Ygnacio Valley HS, Atoigue served as an assistant coach for two seasons at Las Positas College (Livermore, CA), learning from Head Coach Sissi do Amor, the former Brazilian National Team member and 2-time Olympian. "Megan is a very passionate and dedicated coach. She will bring her experience, dedication and desire to teach players to get to the next level," remarked coach Sissi.
Atoigue currently resides in Merced, CA with her husband, Adam.
