A Merced, Calif., native, Salm joins the coaching staff after a four-year career on the UC Merced women's soccer team. Salm finished her career tied for first in program history with 16 assists. As a senior defender, Salm broke the single-season assists record (9) and earned All-California Pacific Conference Second Team honors. The newest addition to the coaching staff is one of just four players in program history to have experience going on a run to the California Pacific Conference Championship game three different years.

Salm also coached soccer at Merced High School, the same high school in which she was named the Merced-Sun Star Girls Soccer Player of the Year in 2015. Coaching, Salm spent two years with the Merced High School JV team and a year with varsity. On the side, Salm has spent time as an individual technical skills and conditioning coach for club players.
