Biography

2013: As a junior, Martinez played in 25 of 26 matches in the season (85 games) as an outside hitter… finished the season with a team high in three categories finishing with 189 kills (2.22 kills per game), 35 service aces and 305 digs (3.59 digs per game)… had 16 assists and finished with 2 solo blocks and 5 block assists for a total of 7 blocks in the season… led the team in points per game with 2.69… was named to the All-California Pacific Conference First Team as a junior.

2012: As a sophomore team captain Martinez played in 28 matches, 102 games, as an outside hitter… finished with 233 kills (2.28 kills per game)... had 34 aces, 255 digs (2.5 digs per game), 13 blocks and 275 points (2.7 points per game)… was named to the All-California Pacific Conference Second Team… was also named Conference Player of the Week for the week of August 20, 2012.

2011: This freshman team captain made the All-California Pacific Conference First Team… was also named the California Pacific Player of the Week for the week of September 19, 2011.

High School: Graduated from Madera South High School in Madera, California… played varsity volleyball all four years… was best offensive player her sophomore and junior year… was First Team All-League her sophomore, junior and senior year, MVP All-League as a sophomore… as a senior she was team captain, team MVP, Second Team All-Valley, Second Team All-State, and a CIF champion.

Personal: As a sociology major she plans on attending graduate school in southern California to pursue a Masters… she is looking into social work or counseling jobs… her family is her inspiration and she has two younger sisters that she wants to be the best role model for… lists her favorite sports teams are the Giants, Dodgers, Lakers and Raiders and her favorite athlete as Ray Lewis… her biggest goals are to become an All-American and win the California Pacific Conference Championships.
