Nancye Rahn joined UC Merced as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator in June of 2024. In this position, Rahn will focus on student-athlete academics and services. She will also serve as an advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Prior to coming to UC Merced, Rahn was the Assistant Director for Campus Life at Montana Tech. She oversaw the new student orientation, events & conferencing, and the Student Union Building Information desk, along with supervising the student workers in that area. Rahn reintroduced orientation leaders to the orientation experience, along with adding in new resource sessions and field trips to explore the region around campus. During the spring semester of 2023, she also served as an Interim Executive Director for Campus Life & Student Engagement.  Working alongside two other Executive Directors, they oversaw Student Affairs until a new Dean of Students could be hired. While in the interim role, she supervised the students and professional staff of Campus Life and Residence Life, while also overseeing upgrades to the conference spaces in the Student Union and Mill Buildings.

Previously, Rahn spent six years at King University in Bristol, Tenn., as an Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs & Student-Athlete Development.  Rahn worked with the coaches on Athletic fundraising, as well as building alumni and community relations. She also created the Tornado Leadership Academy and worked with student-athletes and Career and Professional Services to build Backpacks to Briefcases, a career-oriented leadership series. Tornado 101 was added for freshmen and transfer students to help them get to know each other across teams and to learn about key support areas on campus.  The final piece was a Team Leader Coaching series for future captains. She also served as an advisor for SAAC and oversaw all of King’s game day event management and promotions.

Before King, Rahn spent more than eight years with U.S. Ski and Snowboard, working on projects such as the yearly Rookie Camp for newly named national team athletes. Rahn also developed relationships with the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and U.S. Anti-Doping while coordinating programs between them and U.S. Ski and Snowboard teams. During her time with the teams, she traveled to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. At the games, she played an integral role in the Sochi Bound Friends and Family Program.

Rahn is also a member of the Women Leaders in College Sports, N4A and spent five years on the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Committee. She also enjoys traveling and is always looking for her next adventure.

Rahn holds a Master of Science in mass communication and public relations from San Jose State University and earned her undergraduate degree in political science from Towson University.
