ANAHEIM, Calif. - The University of California, Merced women's basketball team earned a pair of 50+ point victories in Southern California this week, including tying the program's biggest margin of victory in a 104-38 win Tuesday evening at Bethesda University. The Bobcats beat Life Pacific University 89-38 on Monday night.

The 104-38 win ties the record (+66 point advantage) originally set on November 4, 2018 in a 101-35 home win over Saint Katherine. 

Head coach Sarah Hopkins-Chery's team also tied the program's single-game three-point field goals record in the win, knocking down 16 triples while shooting 47% (16-34) from beyond the arc.

The Bobcats neared a program-record with 31 assists and 23 steals.

Deyliana Lewis led five Bobcats in double figures with a career-high 19 points. She shot 100% (7-7) from the floor, becoming the first Bobcat in program history without a miss while attempting at least seven field goals. She also notched three steals for the second time in the last three contests.

Madison Hotchkiss kept pace with Lewis and buried six triples en route to an 18-point performance. The first-year Bobcat is the tenth player in program history with at least six three-pointers in a game and she did so on just nine shots.

Cierra McClain finished with a season-high 17 points and six rebounds, the second highest scoring output of her career and her tenth double figure scoring game overall. 

Haylee Owen was good for 13 points and a season-high seven assists, while Andrea Rogers approached a double-double with ten points and eight rebounds. The duo also had a pair steals.

Owen passed Alexis Wu for fifth in program history with 169 career assists.

Julinna Fletes held game-high with four steals to go along with six points and a season-high six assists. Mikayla Mabie pitched in eight points and three steals.

The Bobcats forced 25 turnovers overall and limited Bethesda to just 31% (15-49) shooting. The Bobcats scored 34 points off those turnovers.

Hopkins-Chery's team held Bethesda to less than 10 points in each of the final three quarters, including a game-low six points in the final frame which helped lead to the biggest road win in program history.

Looking ahead, UC Merced plays host to first-time opponent Lincoln University on Friday, November 19 at 5:30pm inside the Joseph Edward Gallo Gymnasium.
