After Mabie, Deyliana Lewis was the Bobcats next leading scorer with seven points on 60% (3-5) shooting. Haylee Owen finished with six points and extended her streak to 16 consecutive nonconference games with a three-point field goal. The streak dates back to 2018. Marisse Jackson grabbed a team-high six rebounds off the bench, four of which came on the offensive glass. Julinna Fletes also provided a spark off the bench with five points and a couple steals. Like Owen, Fletes has a triple in every contest this year.

William Jessup was led by Makaila Glynn, who neared a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

The game's 107 combined points was the lowest scoring total in a UC Merced game since January 23, 2020. The Bobcats 47 points was their lowest mark since October 26, 2019 against Notre Dame De Namur University.

UC Merced finished the night shooting 30% (17-57) from the floor, 24% (5-21) from downtown and 44% (8-18) from the charity stripe.

Jessup shot 51% (25-49) overall.

The Bobcats led for approximately six minutes the entire night and grabbed their first lead after Tiffany Nguyen buried a straightaway three-pointer to break a 7-7 tie. Lewis and Fletes traded baskets with Jessup the rest of the period and the Bobcats led 13-12 heading into the second quarter.

Smith opened up the second period with a basket down low to regain a three-point, which ended up being the Bobcats biggest lead of the game. The score was then tied 18-18 and 22-22 before Jessup took the lead for good due to a Cheyenne Jankulovski layup. Jessup led by as many as six in the first half but Lewis and Owen teamed up to make it a one possession game at intermission, 30-27.

The Bobcats remained within three points midway through the third quarter, however found themselves trailing by double figures when the frame came to a close as Jessup went on a quarter-ending 11-1 run. Five different Warriors scored during the surge.

UC Merced was never able to recover and trailed by double figures the rest of the way. The margin was between 10 and 14 points for the first nine minutes, but got extended to a game-high 16 points on a field goal from Jessup's Maila Lepolo in the final 50 seconds. Owen's triple that extended her streak was the game's final basket, culminating in a 60-47 Jessup victory.

Jessup was the Bobcats second opponent already this year with recent national championship experience. Jessup punched their national ticket last year after winning it's first ever Golden State Athletic Conference title.

Up next, the Bobcats play an exhibition match at University of the Pacific on Saturday, November 6. Tipoff from the Alex G. Spanos Center in Stockton, Calif., is scheduled for 2:00pm.
