Box Score ARCATA, Calif. – University of California, Merced women's basketball fell 94-55 in the final game of a program-long seven game road trip on Saturday afternoon inside Lumberjack Arena.
The Bobcats drop to 3-6 overall and 0-2 in the CCAA, while the Lumberjacks became one of four teams to start 2-0 in conference play.
Paloma Ramirez led the Bobcats in scoring with 15 points on 63% (7-11) shooting. She added six rebounds and a steal.
Nicole Lukito posted her second straight double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Her double-double was her fifth of the season and 40th of her career. Lukito also had two steals and a block.
Sarina Nagra added nine points and two assists. The junior knocked down two three-pointers, marking her fourth straight game with multiple triples.
Elise LeBeau pitched in six points, two steals, and two assists. Jazzy Beltran scored five points.
Mariah Flores grabbed a career-high ten rebounds and dished out three assists.
The Bobcats led 4-2 and were tied 7-7 early on before Cal Poly Humboldt started to gain control, outscoring the Bobcats by eleven points over the final five minutes of the first quarter to take a 27-16 lead.
Humboldt outscored the Bobcats by eleven points again in the second quarter to double its advantage and own a 45-23 lead at halftime.
The Lumberjacks extended their lead as the game went on, outscoring the Bobcats by eleven points in the third quarter and by six points in the fourth quarter to run away with the victory.
Ramirez was the Bobcats bright spot in the second half with 13 points.
UC Merced committed 27 turnovers throughout the game. Humboldt splashed 14 triples while shooting 42% from downtown. The home team shot a season-high 46% from the field overall while limiting the Bobcats to 37%.
Up next, UC Merced will have an exams break before returning to action and hosting Cal Poly Pomona on Friday, December 19. Tipoff from the Joseph Edward Gallo Gymnasium is scheduled for 5:30pm.
