MERCED, Calif. – University of California, Merced women's soccer senior forward Jocelin Roa has been named the FloCollege/CCAA Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon. This is the first CCAA weekly honor in Roa's career.
Roa joins teammates Alexia Alva and Andrea Alvarenga Torres as Bobcats who have earned the CCAA's Offensive Player of the Week award this season. UC Merced women's soccer is the first team since the 2024 Cal Poly Pomona team to have three different offensive weekly award winners.
The Manteca, Calif., native scored in both games over the weekend, highlighted by a 27th-minute game-winning goal in Sunday's 1-0 win over her former team Stanislaus State. Roa also scored the game's first goal in Friday's 1-1 draw against Cal State Monterey Bay, snapping the Otters four-match shutout streak. This weekend marked her second time this season scoring in back-to-back games.
Roa played 82 minutes at Stan State and 79 minutes vs. CSUMB.
For the season, Roa leads the CCAA and is tied for first in the NCAA Division II West Region with nine goals. She is tied for 19th nationally with her nine goals. Also of note, Roa leads the region with four game-winning goals.
UC Merced is currently 6-1-5 overall and 3-1-4 in CCAA play.
Up next, the Bobcats will travel to Arcata, Calif., to play defending CCAA Tournament Champion Cal Poly Humboldt on Thursday, October 15. First touch from College Creek Field is scheduled for 12:00pm.
