MERCED, Calif. – The University of California, Merced men's water polo team placed 18 student-athletes on the WWPA All-Academic Team. The 18 players are tied for the most in the conference.
Hayden Markell, a mechanical engineering major, earned the honors with a perfect 4.0 GPA through his first three semesters.
Seniors Aydann Hambruch and Vincent Labonte carry top three GPA's on the team
Andrew Jones and Christian Soto also headline the Bobcats honorees after earning All-WWPA honors in November.
The WWPA All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes that have maintained over a 3.0 GPA and have completed a minimum of one semester at their institution. Student-athletes must be classified as a full-time student for all terms of attendance.
